If a tempered glass screen protector or non-official screen protector is attached to your phone, the colours on screen may not be accurate. It is recommended that you remove the screen protector, set the default home app to Huawei Home, and use an official pre-installed theme to check again.
To set the default home app:
Go to Settings > Apps & services > Default apps > Home app > Huawei Home.
If the problem persists, perform the following steps:
Scenario 1: The screen shows only black and white colours
- Check if Simulate colour space is enabled. If so, go to Settings, search for Simulate colour space, and select Off.
If Simulate colour space is not displayed, this feature is not enabled or supported on your device. In this case, skip this step.
- The screen turns black and white when eBook mode is enabled. To disable eBook mode, open Settings, search for and tap eBook mode.
If eBook mode is not displayed, this feature is not supported on your device. In this case, skip this step.
Scenario 2: The app background is black
If the background of a system app is black, it means that Dark mode has been enabled. To disable Dark mode, go to Settings > Display & brightness > Dark mode.
Scenario 3: The screen colour changes from cold white to warm colours
- This occurs when Eye Comfort is enabled. To disable this feature, open Settings, search for and tap Eye Comfort.
- The colour or colour temperature has been manually adjusted. Open Settings, search for and tap Colour mode & temperature/Colour temperature, set Colour mode to Normal, and set Colour temperature to Default/Normal.
Scenario 4: Home screen icons all turn black
This occurs when Colour inversion is enabled. Open Settings, and search for and tap Colour inversion to disable the feature.
Scenario 5: The screen has a purple, blue, or red cast
This occurs when Colour correction is enabled. Go to Settings > Accessibility, tap Colour correction or go to Accessibility > Colour correction, and disable the corresponding switch.
If the issue persists
- Reset all settings on your phone.
- If Reset all settings is not displayed, this feature is not supported on your device. In this case, skip this step. Thank you for your support and understanding.
- Reset all settings restores network settings, fingerprint and face information, lock screen password, Bluetooth, home screen and wallpaper, app permission settings, etc. It does not delete other types of data or files, nor does it restore settings in third-party apps.
